As 2020 winds down, we recognize we’re all experiencing deeply hard times from unemployment and business losses, illness, isolation, and the loss of loved ones. RealtyCom is fortunate to be able to continue operating remotely and honor this year’s season of giving by hosting a virtual Charitable Giving Contest with our team.

In lieu of volunteering our time and attending our annual charity dinner, we relied on our amazing team to nominate, teach us about their organization’s mission, and ultimately donated to charities closest to our hearts. It was illuminating to learn about charities we were not aware of, and to hear about the amazing work they are doing.

After overwhelming participation, we were hard-pressed to choose just one since they were all very worthy causes and in need more now than ever.  Thanks to Zoom we received immediate voting results, and are proud to announce RealtyCom’s charitable donations were made to the following:

• The Hidden Genius Project that trains and mentors Black male youth in technology creation, entrepreneurship, and leadership skills to transform their lives and communities.

Many of you probably took notice of the recent webinar “Paradigm Shift: Can Bulk Internet Finance Smart Buildings?” from Joshua Tree Conference Group sponsored by Cox Communications. The topic not only piqued my interest, but the well-respected panelists from Mill Creek Residential, Davis Craig, PLLC and Catalyst Innovation Lab who were set to talk. Honestly, this article was intended to be published in March 2020 – then Covid 19 hit and the total landscape changed!  After many months of figuring out best practices, our Telecom Providers and Properties are adapting to new practices and technology, but still having fun!

Most Property Managers and telecom providers agree that property events can be a win-win.  Not only does the property benefit by hosting an activity for the residents, but they offer a resident the convenience of discussing their cable and Internet needs with knowledgeable representatives.

Telecom Providers find great value in hosting property events since it allows them more visibility with their mutual customers, a platform to roll out new services, special offers or discuss their products. It is  also an opportunity to show appreciation to their subscribers and the leasing office for their partnership.  Most importantly, Telecom Providers find that the connection with the leasing office, along with planning and participating in resident functions, can build a more open and enhanced relationship.
